A friend of mine once said, "girls, unless you've had an erection, you don't know what it means to be an man and boys, unless you've had a period, you don't know what it's like to be a woman." We live in a world where we get so many messages on so many levels in so many ways of who we "should" be as men or woman that a lot of times we lose touch with our fundamental reality of what it means to be this man or this woman namely yourself. Just as with sanity and sexuality, gender is a wide spectrum of experience. You can borrow bits and pieces from a whole lot of cookbooks without being trapped in any one recipe.
